You can get an idea exactly where by looking at where the two hoses enter through the engine bulkhead into the interior. It is a job requiring two people for some parts of it and care must be taken as old plastic parts tend to be brittle, cracking and breaking easily. The two accuating cables which control the flaps (baffle plates) to direct the air flow have to be adjusted precisely so leave yourself room to work before reassembling everything to check the air flow distribution... marking the cable positions (red polish) in the old assembly may help line things up a bit quicker.
