How do you remove the ignition lock cylinder on a 1973 Firebird?

pull steering wheel off, remove the steering lock disc, then remove the signal light switch assembly to gain access to the retaining screw that holds the lock cylinder in place,

If I remember correctly theres a small hole right below where the key goes into the cylinder. Press a paper clip in the hole while turning the key I think to the left. I might be wrong, been a long time.

I'm fairly sure that the 70-81 windshield is the same dimensions.

To remove the igniton lock, remove the steering wheel and turn signal switch housing. From there you will be able to see the lock which holds the ignition lock into place. slide a screwdriver into the slot and apply pressure. The igntion lock can then be pulled out.

switch should be on the bottom of the steering column ,probably have to drop the two bolts on console to get to it
