you can pull the steering wheel and there is a torx head bolt that holds the tumbler in take the bolt out and it will slide right out but make sure the dealer can cut a key for it if its got an anti theft system on it if you dont have the old key with the chip in it it will cost you about 150 bucks to get a locksmith to cut the right key for it
The 1994 Pontiac Grand Am ignition lock cylinder is held in place by the retaining ring at the top of the cylinder. Remove the retaining ring. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the cylinder.
Begin by removing the retaining ring at the top of your 1994 Ford ignition lock cylinder. The ignition lock cylinder will slide out. Remove the wiring harness from the end of the ignition lock cylinder. Reverse the process to install your new ignition lock cylinder.

If you have a pass key light "on" then in all probability it is a broken wire on the ignition lock cylinder.

remove the shroud covering the steering coloum and turn the key to the on position push in release pin over ignition and pull cylinder out.
should be located on the bell housing
the fan is not workin
it usually means the ignition cylinder is going bad. I had it go on one of my camaros and it went in a month, my other camaro its been on 3 yrs and still works. just be aware one day you might turn that key and get nothing. It is usually the wires that control the chip in the key tear away from the lock cylinder.
