I have found that if you "roll off" the drive belts underneath first there are no problems with just undoing the 4 bolts that hold the engine to the mower chassis, disconnecting the throttle cable from the engine and the whole lot comes off very easily.
IMHO, best left to a gunsmith to remove it.

This is a simple do it yourself job. First you need to locate you blower motor heater which should be under the dashboard passenger side, you might have to remove a peice of trim. There should be three screws that will remove it. It should come out in one peice and you have to remove the fan blade that looks like hamster wheel. Buy new part ( bring old part in to ensure you have the right one) install new part buy plugging the blower motor in and reinstall ( You might have two blade into the adapter from you old motor) enjoy the heat, and tell everyone where exactly you blower motor is, p.s take lots of pictures so you have a reference when reinstalling
