hi you have to remove the oil pan then go to autozone or oriley and tell them you need a oil pan gasket for 96 dodge neon then you would place blue siacone on the oil pan ,then you would place the gasket on the oil pan ,make sure that you can see the screw holes ok very easy.

It is in the engine behind timing belt but you will need to remove the oil pan to gain access. See haynes manual 47017 for details.
Changing the oil pump on a 96 S10 is simple but will take some time. All you do is jack up the car, drain the oil, remove the oil pan gasket, take out the oil pan, unbolt the old oil pump and put in a new one.
I have a -96 2.0l engine, and you should be able to remove/replace the oil pan without removing the engine. Lift the car so you can get underneath it, and you should see the oil pan. Remember to empty the pan for oil before you start loosening it, it's a 15mm bolt i think. Than use a 10mm and unscrew all the bolts around the oil pan, and there it is... If u're replacing it, replace the oil filter as well, it's right behind the oil pan, really easy to spot =)
