You'd be well advised to pick up a Chilton manual or Toyota factory service manual for a step-by-step description with photos. Without knowing which of the two generations of Solara you're asking about an accurate answer is difficult. For the Gen II Solara (2004 and later) you simply remove the rear seat and (in the sedan) package shelf to remove the three nuts securing the rear strut. Caution, there are other pieces that are attached to the strut and rear axle that should be loosened or removed as well. That's where a proper manual will help prevent expensive breakage. Cheers
