inside the truck box there are two bolts that hold the tail light in. Remove these bolts and the entire tail light assembly coems out. If you have a bed liner you will have to remove it first to get to the bolts
1. Open the rear tailgate, or barn door.
2. In the door frame of the there are two black plugs, remove them. There is a Phillips head screw underneath each of the plugs.
3. Unscrew the newly revealed screws- as you near the end of the second one you may want to hold your tail light so it does not meet the ground.
4. Pull the tail light assembly (which should now be free) towards the front of the vehicle until the tabs at the front of the assemble are free of the body of the vehicle.
5. You should now be able to see how to remove the wireing harness, and should be able to see the two hex screws that hold the bulbs to the assembly.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE REPLACING YOUR LAMP(S) I RECOMMEND WEARING LEATHER GLOVES FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE LAMP ITSELF. I MANAGED A 1.5 IN CUT ON MY THUMB TRYING TO ROCK A LAMP OUT OF THE SOCKET.
Inside the trunk there is a trim panel that needs to be removed that covers up the taillight bolts. Remove the trim panel and then you can remove the two bolts that hold in the taillight. I have also included an instructional video that will show you how this is done. Hope this helps, 1ATony
