in order to do this is simply easy first locate the starter on my 99 sunfire it is under the engine near the fan so you gotta get under the car and just simply take the nuts and bolts off and remember which one goes where for when u put the new one on... hope it helped some
One way to know, is to check the part number for each starter on one of the big parts houses' websites. If they are the same, odds are it will fit.
Remove the cables from the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. The starter will come off. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
very hard! I just finished retapping the cam housing bolt holes in my 2000 sunfire. but had to remove the timing chain to get the cam cover and housing off. to get the timing chain off, you have to remove the motor mount bracket off first, then remove the timing cover before getting to the chain. no room to get the bracket bolts off without some assistance to pry the engine to the opposite side.
The starter solenoid can be replaced by removing the wiring harness. Remove the retaining nuts. The solenoid will come off. Reverse the process to install the new solenoid.
Remove the starter cables. Remove the retaining bolts. The starter will come off. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
Remove the battery cables from the starter. Remove the retaining bolts from the starter. The starter will come off. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
disconnect battery or connection to starter and take it off.
Remove the starter cables. Remove the starter retaining bolts. The starter will come off. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
Remove the positive cable from the battery posts. Remove the cables from the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. The old starter will come off. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
Disconnect the battery, take off the terminals on the starter, then remove the starter mounting bolts in the belt housing.
remove wires from the top of starter, remove the two bolts that attach starter to bell housing, pull starter off, reverse to put starter back on
pull the wheel off, remove the two caliper bolts, remove the caliper and the rotor can be removed
