Hi, Im re-painting a JD110 at the moment but I dissmantled the transmission 3 years ago.. Im probably not wrong:
The transm is not directly mounted to the chassis, but to a U shaped frame. You have to detach this frame, then dismantle the four bolts (5/8 I guess...), two at a side, which connect the two counter arms of the differential in the transmission to that frame.
Note:
It is quite a heavy piece, hence be aware not to apply force on the shifter rod, as it is not designed to hold the transmission.

Remove steering shaft. Put belt on engine sheave first, engine sheave belt guard has a removable bracket (two bolts, remove one and loosen the other, feed belt through trans. assy. belt guards and around sheave. Rotate and clamp middle sheave assy., remove sheaves; put belt on sheaves one at a time, remove clamp.
