Not at all. The Datsun 1200 (B110) uses a different type of engine (the A series) whereas the 1600 (510) uses the L Series engine.
Yes , that is exactly the combination i have in my Datsun 1600 sprint car. The gearbox hole inside the car has been modified to allow for it, ie chopped out some and raised with a metal cowling. Burls
The Datsun 510 went by several other names when it was first manufactured in 1968. Some of the other names that this model of vehicle went by include the Datsun Bluebird, Datsun 1300, Datsun 1500, and Datsun 1600.

there is no such thing as 1987 datsun, they were niesson then, or w.e. right? I think you are wrong, there is 1987 Datsun which is CD21 model, and the engine is Z16 (S), 1600 CC , Carburetor.
pull the dash apart. behind the speedometer you will see the cable. it connects to the transmission.
What model Datsun? Basic procedure is: Raise the car and place it on jack stands. Remove the drive shaft. Remove the gear shift mechanism. Remove the transmission. Remove the pressure plate. Remove the clutch disk. Remove the flywheel. Inspect the flywheel for burns, scars, scratches--have resurfaced or replace as needed. Remove the pilot bearing. Install and new pilot bearing and new clutch disk and pressure plate. Align clutch disk. Reinstall transmission and other parts in reverse order of removal.
As long as its an "L" series motor Like the L28b(for example) will bolt to any "L" series transmission like the 510 that bolts to the L20B four cylinder. Another great thing by DATSUN
i don't know exactly what a datsun 1600 is but it wouldn't work because you would have to flip it over and that would make the oil slingers not work
Remove fill plug on side of transmission and fill with 4.25 pints of 80W-90 oil.If oil should follow out "before" 4.25 pints, STOP, as transmission is full.Install fill plug and tighten.
