Remove it and find out why it doesn't operate properly and correct the problem or replace the whole thang.
Take the oven to an appliance repair shop. It sounds like the door safety interlock has jammed the opening mechanism.
There could be several reasons why the doorknob is not turning when you try to open the door. It could be due to a faulty lock mechanism, a misalignment of the door and frame, or a problem with the doorknob itself. It is recommended to check if the door is properly aligned, if the lock is functioning correctly, and if the doorknob is not damaged. If the issue persists, it may be necessary to seek the help of a professional locksmith or repair person.

I worked it out!!!! Removing the door trim panel allows for acces to the actuator rods and the latch mechanism itself. The problem seemed to be that the exterior actutor was stiff. Good ole WD40 to the rescue.
If I understand the question correctly - - the door is on child safety lock and you can't open the door to fix the handle. If so - - you will have to remove the interior door panel to gain access to the locking mechanism and unlock it manually. Mechanical methods of opening the door (Slim Jim's, etc) stand a good chance of damaging the locking mechanism by forcing it, and you (or someone) will have to remove the door panel to repair it anyway.
You can prevent a door from swinging open by installing a door stopper, using a door latch or lock, or adding a door closer mechanism.
To open a stuck door on a 2000 Kia Sephia, remove the door panel and check the latch mechanism. It is likely to be bent. Better to replace the latch mechanism.
