The drive shafts connect the transfer case and differentials.
Its on the transfer case by where the front axle connects. It's a thin case with a motor mounted on it.

It could be the U joints from the transfer case causing the problem.

A 1994 does not have a control module on the transfer case. But it does have a 4x4 Actuator on the front differential.
