This is not simple, a long long time ago I got involved with doing a job on a Star Craft, cables are a bummer to replace, biggest secondary problems I remember having was the replacement cables were not the same size(length) as the ones that I had. Had to prop up the top cause once you pop the cables the top will come crashing down on your head, do one at a time and be sure you get the right ones from the star craft dealer, or camper supply dealer. Good luck and be patient and very careful. It was soooo long ago I forget all the struggles I had with it, why not get a price from the camper store?

Can a Ford Escape tow a tent trailer?
It depends on the size of the tent trailer and how the Escape it outfitted. A 2009 Ford Escape with a class III hitch/towing package and a V6 is rated to tow up to 3500 lbs, which is plenty to hall most pop-up campers/tent trailers, although there is such a variety in size among tent trailers that it is possible to exceed this. An escape with a I-4, and without the towing package but with an add on after market hitch can't haul nearly as much and you might be hard pressed to find a tent trailer that you can haul. So basically you need far more information to know if your Escape can haul a camper or not.
