How do you repair the overdrive on my 1995 ford crown Victoria?

First off, there really no way to repair and OD on and AOD 4speed without rippn it apart. What i would suggest is that u check the TV cable(THROTTLE VALVE) at the throttle body and the air intake. there a little groove clip there that should be check periodically as they seem to wear with age and weather conditions.

after inspecting this little tv clip, then check the linkage from the throttle positioner to the trans ON the Throttle valve cable! it like a little knuckle there with two nuts and an adjustable grommet, sounds like when ur in OD u reach about 30-40 mph and she slipps huh? i know what you mean, yep as longs as this problems has not been there longer than a hundred miles, u should be able to REconnect the linkage if broken or disengaged, and resume the need 4 speed. when adjusting the TV Cable , engage paring brake, and put the car in NEUTRAL until this id completed. good luck!
