To remove, twist counterclockwise, then pull. Watch out for melted plastic due to burns caused by either water or use of incorrect bulb. A bulb that looks correct isn't good enough. Look up the part number before installing a bulb. You can spend a few seconds saving hundreds of dollars this way.
