well first you have to find out where the filter is, is it in the tank or by the tank on the outside. if its in the tank then you have to take the gas out of the tank and drop the tank, get help if needed, make sure you disconnect the filler neck before you drop the tank. disconnect any hoses and wires necessary and then take off the ring that holds the tank in place you should have a gasket also, youre gonna have to put grease on the new gasket to keep it in place while you connect the new assembly on. pull out the old unit and discard. there maybe a wire screen that was used to keep the dirt out, you can buy another one or clean the one you have, if its to bad just replace it and be done. clean the tank around the flang and make sure no dirt get into the tank. installation is the reverse of removal.
