Call up the dealership that is the make of your car and give them the VIN# and they will make you a key.
That is not your only option. There are many locksmiths that specialize in
automotive key "origination". I myself originate keys on a weekly basis.
The reason I am improving this answer:
Many dealerships only can go back into their system so far, so many years back -
e.g. Ford Motor Co. only goes back 10 years. Being 2011 now, if you have a 1997
model Ford, the dealer cannot help you. I know this because I go to the Ford
dealership here locally and produce keys regularly because every year they purge
the previous tenth year back from the system.

P.S. Some vehicles keys can ONLY be made at the dealer (mostly brand new cars etc). Pricing varies from place to place (even dealerships) so SHOP AROUND.
A person can replace a Cadillac key by locating a company that replaces Cadillac keys. Some of these places include a Cadillac car dealership and Car Locksmiths.
Try your spare key? No? replace the lock cyclinder.
Take your car vin # and go your Nissan dealer.
You do not need to replace the cylinder you need to replace the whole car around it and sell me the whole car (that was around you good working cylinder) for cheap..like 2 bucks
if you lost your key call a ford dealership with your vin number and stats of your car and they might be able to make you a new key
A Mazda Dealer's Parts Department can cut a new key from the car's VIN number.
Replace the battery on your remote key. If you get the dealer to do it for you it is notoriously expensive. Did you try unlocking the passenger side with the key?
You ring your car manufacturer and ask for a new one or just generally go and use the Internet.

I had the same problem. I had to replace the key cylinder, key faub, and computer. Its a pain. better off just leaving it
