I just had to replace the crank sensor on my 03 T&C Van. What a nightmare! If the 3.8 is anything like my 3.3 the sensor is located on the bell housing of the tranny near the seam. If you stand on the drivers side of the car and look at the engine its at about the 2 o'clock position of the housing. Hope that makes sense. Its buried waaaaay down under all that other stuff. I had to remove the battery and the battery housing and remove a couple of other things and it was still a pain to get too. Its held in by one 10mm bolt. The bolt usually isn't too tight but you may have to work a bit to loosen and remove the sensor. Then pop the new one in.
