A fixed antenna is wired directly to the radio on a 1996 Honda Civic. Pull the center console off and find the antenna wire behind the radio. Tie a nylon to the antenna wire and pull the old unit out. Tie the new wire for the antenna to the nylon so it can be properly snaked back.

That's easy, I did the same job to my 90 accord. First buy a fixed antenna, I went to radio shack, something like $12, instead of $200+ for the power antenna from Honda.. In the trunk, on the side of the antenna, pull back the trunk liner but be careful not to break an clips. once the trunk liner is out of the way, you'll see what tools you'll need, and what nuts to turn. The new antenna will have all of the parts you need, find one that fits the fender the best. It is a relatively easy job, self explanitory once you expose the antenna from under the trunk. I completely took the old power antenna assembly out of mine. It's pretty self explanatory. Remove old antenna assembly, install new fixed antenna to quarter panel, plug in your antenna cable, replace trunk liner (carpet).

No it will not. Your radio antenna is the top portion of the rear window. unless you cut it somehow.. It is also possible that the antenna booster located on the left side of the back window behind the pillar molding was bumped when tinted and that could cause the static. I had this problem once with a Civic Coupe. pull the cover on the pillar and unplug the antenna wire and the plug it back in. If you have not had the problem fixed try that.

You will have to remove the rear door panel to gain access to the inside of the door. In the door there is a brace directly under the molding that separates the Fixed glass from the window. If you undo that brace the old fixed part will come out and ou can slide the new window in. It took me less than an hour to replace mine.
