Hi to perform this start by disconnecting your battery. Then releasing pressure from the fuel lines. There should be a valve on one of the lines on top of the manifold. Get a rag to catch the fuel as it comes out.
1) loosen the air box hose clams and remove the air intake
2) loosen all sensors and accelerator cable from intake
3) remove all the 10 mm bolts on the intake manifold and disconnect spark plug wires from distributor cap.
4) their is another 10 mm nut between the fuel lines remove it ( note it helps to loosen this bolt before removing all the other 10mm bolts)as
well as the two 5/8 bolts(brass
fittings) on the fuel lines connected to the intake manifold and set them aside
5)lift the wire harness and lift the whole intake up clearing the center of the spider injection( life and push towards firewall to help clear the radiator outlet hose)
6) set the manifold aside and clean and replace the gaskets
7) remove the clip from the fuel pressure regulator and remove the old unit (note there is a small o-ring
inside remove it may be stuck.
8) lift the harness up to give you clearance and carefully install the intake manifold( be very careful the gasket may want to fall and cause a bad air leak)
9) Torque bolts in sequence and to proper torque specs.
10) connect all sensors and throttle body cables and battery
11) let fuel pump regain fuel pressure by turning the ignition over and off without turning on the vehicle then start the car.
how do u replace fule pressure regulator in 94 blazer vortec
Under the upper intake assembly
it is under the upper intake manifold, if you have a vortec engine
It is located in the throttle body.
under the intake manifold mounted to the CFI (central fuel injector)
It is in the throttle body.
The regulator is under the plastic upper intake manifold. It is in the end of the injector housing or pod.
That is were the fuel injectors are at, and the fuel pressure regulator is on the rear of it.
This fuel pressure regulator is a component part of the SFI (sequential fuel injection) assembly, sometimes referred to as "spider". It resides inside of the air intake plenum and is accessed by removing the upper half of the intake.
Need to check fuel pressure regulator, and it could be the MAP sensor making it run rich. Is the check engine light on???? If it is have engine scaned with engine scanner so you can read the codes, and see what is going on with the emissions.
on the fuel rail. depending if it is throttle body, or a vortec
Check the pressure regulator, fuel filter and fuel pump.
