the pump you have may be the rong one or you must use the greese that comes with the new pump and put it on the new O-ring then you must line up the tab facing the front and push down hard the pump is spring loaded so it will go down and the O- ring is a tight fit.
You must remove the fuel tank or disconnect the bed and slide it back enough to access the pump, your choice.

It is either the sensor is bad, or there is not enough oil pressure. You could replace the sending sensor and see if that clears up the problem, otherwise you are looking at a more major problem dealing with your oil pump etc.
First check that theer is enough power steering fluid in it, if that doesn't solve the problem then it needs reapir or replacement when it gets worse.
