Before you change it, make sure that it is not working. take the inlet hose off, and have someone turn the motor over while holding your finger over the inlet. If you feel suction on your finger, then the pump is still good.

On top of the moter , passenger side it has fuel line running to injector pump
behind the fuel filter bracket bar and alternator.
it is a mechanical pump run off of the cam shaft on the front passengers side front of engine down low. That is where it is on a Diesel. If gas more than likely in the fuel tank.
In dusty conditions, or with extensive idling replace fuel filters every 15,000 miles.
Directions on how to replace a fuel pump on a 1995 F250 diesel 7.3
A ford focus does not have a diesel fuel filter. It runs on regular fuel. Preferably 87 octane
Do NOT use Diesel fuel in a Ford Focus. The engine will stop running and you will have to drain the gas tank to rid the car of the diesel fuel. Gasoline engines are not designed to run on diesel. They do not have enough compression to cause the diesel fuel to combust The only engine used in a 2000 Ford Focus was the 2.0 which is NOT a diesel engine.
