# Allow cooling system to cool down atleast 5 hours # Using a thick cloth for protection turn the radiator filler cap to the first stop # Step back and let the pressure release # Once pressure has been released tighten coolant cap # Working within the engine compartment loosen the clamps on the heater hoses at the engine compartment side of the firewall twist the hoses and carefully separate them from the heater core tubes # Plug or cap the heater core tubes to prevent coolant from spilling into the passanger compartment when heater core is removed # Place a plastic sheet on truck floor to prevent stains in case the coolant spills # Working in the passanger compartment remove the screws securing the heater core access cover to the plenum assembly # Carefully pull the heater core rearward and down and remove it from the plenum assembly
To replace the heater core of a 1985 Bronco 2, open the glove box and push on the 2 tabs that hold it in place. After removing the entire glove box, remove the round plastic screws of the heater core. Remove the old and replace with a new one.

I have a 1987 ford bronco and I changed the heater core in about 15 minutes. All you have to do is remove glove box and there is a panel with a few screws around it. and there you go.
