to replace a heater core in f150, lift hood and remove both coolant hoses near firewall then inside truck, remove ashtray this will enable you to get at a screw that holds glove box in dash remove glovebox then behind glovebox is a black plastic panel remove screw holding this panel remove panel, you will then see the heatewr core remove screws holding heater core remove heater cre istallation of new core is exact opposite to removal of old core when all reassembled, check coolant level, as you may have lost some during replacement of core

Remove the water supply hoses to your 1998 Chevy Lumina heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the procedure to install the new heater core.

The Heater Core is behind the dashboard and is very difficult to replace. The entire dashboard must be removed to facillitate repair. There is another web page which I have that details the dash removal procedure. As soon as I can I will submit the procedure to this website.
It everything was done correctly plus the controls are working then you will have an air pocket in the cooling system and you must bleed the system out to remove it..........

Drain the radiator. Disconnect the heater hoses. Remove the screws holding the heater core case and remove the whole assembly. Remove the core and install the new on in the case. Reverse the procedure to finish the installation.
