Just finished fixing mine today, what a mess. Look at the shifter cable once you get it out. If its just a little bent then stick it in a vice, and tap on it a few times with a hammer to straighten it back out. After my original cable went out I went a bought a $40 aftermarket cable. The aftermarkets are cheap compared to the original, the aftermarket cable broke while installing and could not be salvaged. I ended up having to straighten out the original like i said above and reinstalling it. As for how do you install it? Its pretty simple just look at the way the original one is installed and do it the same way, all I can say is its not much fun, and its not very easy
