No, it won't. The original shifter knob from ford is a press on design where the hurst is a screw on design.
The shifter knob has a slot in the leather about halfway down. In that slot is a u shaped clip. pull it out and lift the knob as an assembly.
I have a 1992 Ford ranger with a manual transmission. A while back, my truck's shifter knob just came loose. It's all plastic, and I think it was just held on by pressure. I don't know what type your truck's shifter knob would be, since I really haven't driven any newer rangers.
I have a 94 Firebird and on the bottom of the shifter knob there is a "U" shaped clip. You will have to shift into L1 to see it since it is on the front of the knob. Once you pull out the clip, it slides off and you can replace it with whatever kind you wnat but make sure the "push to shift" function is on the new knob.
twist the old knob off and follow the diractions on the new shifter knob
You need the user manual which has steps on how you can replace a shifter knob on a 2002 Dodge RAM 1500 with standard transmission.
The top of the shifter knob.
the shifter is all in one. you have to replace the whole shifter. the nob is attached
I believe there is a pin on the back of the shifter knob.I don't remember which way it comes out, when you look at it you will figure it out, but when it does, the knob will come off.
The 1987 Pontiac Trans Am shifter knob is held in place with a retaining clip below the shifter knob. Push the retaining clip together and the shifter knob will raise off.
Easy. The cap on top of the knob - with the gear arrangements on it (1,2,3,4,5,R) will pop off if you pry under it. There should be a machine screw holding the knob onto the shaft of the shifter - unscrew it, and since the knob is splined, pull the knob straight up and off. It might take a little forcing. That's all there is to it! -if you are also trying to remove the entire shifter (shaft) there is one screw at the bottom of the shaft right next to the transmission that must come out, then the shaft slides right up and off. i had to do this when dropping the tranny, in order to replace my clutch.
Years ago I have 93 ranger. In it you would pry the shift pattern plastic thing out of the stick and there was a screw or nut (been so long cant remember which one now). That is how I changed mine.
