Hey Criss==First take it loose at the speedometer end then pull it out of the housing. If it is broken, take it loose at the trans and remove the broken part. Put them together and measure the length. Go to the store and get a cable the correct length and get some speedo cable lube. In stall the cable into the housing with lots of grease and hook up the ends and that is all. If the housing is bad you will need a new housing and cable. GoodluckJoe
its electronic, there is no cable
There is no speedometer cable on that vehicle. The speedometer is driven electronically.
I believe that the first digital cluster on a S-10 Blazer was in 1989.
Broken cable?
I pretty sure it doesn't have a speedometer cable, it is electronic.
There are several things you can do to repair your speedometer. You can replace the speedometer cable. You can replace the speed sensor in the transmission.
Remove speedometer head to unscrew and remove cable Remove cable from transmission Re-Install new cable using same routing as original
unscrew it from the speedometer head under the dash and unscrew it from the tranny and pull the old one out and install the new cable.
If the speedometer is not working it probably needs a new speedometer cable. If the speedometer is actually broken either take it to as speedometer repair shop or replace it.
Remove speedometer head Disconnect old cable Follow original routing for new cable Disconnect fitting at side of transmission and remove cable - replace with new
