no its a1997 avalon replacing the mounts
where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine block you will find a housing with several bolts to remove them and you will find your thermostat.
1997 Avalon has a belt
Following the hose that leaves the Radiator , usually on the right ( driver's ) side, you will find it connects to a section at the engine: this connection is where you access the Thermostat.
