The window regulators in all years of the Ford Contour are fairly easy to remove as long as the window is not stuck.
I find the steps to remove them are as follows:
1: remove the door panel. This can be somewhat of a mystery as some of the screws are hidden. It will require a small pocket knife or similar object to remove the small button covers that hide the screws. The first screw to remove is the one that holds the small trianglular cover at the front junction of the window frame and the door. The next is the at the lower front of the door panel. The next is hidden behind the door release handle. Now the door pull is in the middle and has a two large Philips screws holding it and the panel on. The cover must be gently pried off with the small knife. Now your are ready to take out the easy screws. There are 4 screws that are around the perimeter of the panel.
Finally, take the small knife and pry loose the panel that holds the electric window and door lock switches. Remove them by disconnecting the wiring plugs.
2: Now that the door panel is off, remove the moisture barrier. Do your best not to damage it. It is going to go back on and it protects the car.
3: You know have access to the door mechanisms. To remove the regulator you must first detach the window from the regulator. It is held on by two bolts and plastic clips. There are two holes in the middle of the door that are where you access these bolts. Move the window up to align with the holes and remove the bolts. Now you will have to reach into the door cavity and squeeze the plastic fingers and try to push the plastic plastic clips back out of th window glass.
4: At the top of the door pull up and the rubber moldings that are on the window glass slot. Lift the window glass out of the door and put aside.
5:Remove the bolts holding the window motor
6: There are 4 bolts holding the window regulator bar or column. Remove those.
7: Disconnect the eletrical plug from the window motor.
8: Slide the window regulator assembly out and down through the access hole in the rear of the door.
HOW DO I REPLACE WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ON PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW
That would be EXTREMELY unlikely that any rear window regulator would fit in the front window, same side or not.
What question
how do I replace the passenger side window regulator on an E250, 2006. the window will not release to push to top of window frame only half way?
When replacing the regulator on a 2006 Ford Fusion, you need to follow the instruction on the manual so as to be able to replace the actuator on a 2006 Ford Focus with power window.
take the door panel off and unbolt the regulator and jam the window until you can replace the regulator
Take it to a Ford dealer. Could be dangerous if you are inexperienced.
It is built into the Alternator
I have a 1999 ford contour and just replaced the front driver window regulator and motor the other day. You need to take off the inner panel of the door by unscrewing all areas. You will probably have to unscrew the 4 bolts to the window regulator (which is the cable that moves the window up/down when you run the window motor. The motor is connect to this). There are 3 screw to the wind motor connect to the door frame to be unscrewed (middle right side of doorfram by speaker). The motor just unscrews from the regulator and screw the new one in. Go to a salvage yard for the part (I paid $10 at a U-Pull-It salvage yard for the regulator and motor vs $118 at Auto Zone).
There probably is - for videos, you should go to YouTube and do a search.
Window motor and regulator are found inside of the door panel and may be bolted or riveted in. Should be bolted. Disconnect the window from regulator, take out reg. and motor, then disconnect regulator from motor, reconnect new motor to regulator, reattach those inside of the door, then reconnect the window to the regulator, put it together and see if it works.
