Up under the dash to the left of the radio/ashtray you will see that the washer motor and the wiper motor are the same unit. You will see the screws/bolts once you get on your back and look up inside. The wiper rod assembly will fit over a gear on the top of the unit. Hadn't a clue just looked and saw what had to be done and now it's working.

Yes you can remove a manual transmission and replace it with an automatic. You will need to buy an aftermarket shifter kit of find a shifter for your vehicle from a junk yard. You will also either have to remove the clutch pedal or replace the pedal assembly
