How do you replace brake pads on a 1998 Ford Escort?

i don't know if this ad is old but to change your brake pads, you need to losen the bolts in your w heel when its in the ground. then lift up ur car with the little jack that u have in your trunk in the right side. you will have to lift that little compartment in your trunk to see the jack. get it out, lift up your car and take the wheel off. put the wheel under ur car just in case it falls off. you will see the brake pads in your disk. it will have a little screw or a little stick going to your brake pads in front of you, to the brake pads in the back of the disk. that little stick has two security wanna be locks right behind the first brake pad. you need to pull that off in both of the sticks. then, u pull that stick out in both sides, because it has two, and you need to just push them from underneath so they can come out. u may be confused, but the b rake pad needs to come out from the top of where they are. you take the one in front of you out, following from the one in the back. to put the new brake pads on, you need to loosen the screws that are stick out in the back of the disk so the part where the disk goes, loosens up and you can adjust it to fit your brake pads which are going to be thicker because they are new. hope i could help. i am about to do it myself. my dads a mechanic
