Most wrecking yards nowadays have service shops. They will have the diff and will offer warranty as well. I have gone this route on the troublesome items in the past. Also they are quite reasonable, as nobody can remove parts as fast as these guys.

THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS WOULD BE TO CHANGE THE WHOLE REAR AXLE,I BOUGHT MINE USED AT A SALVAGE YARD FOR $150. AND IT WORKS GREAT! BEFORE BUYING CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL AND CONDITION.YOU WILL NEED TWO JACKSTANDS AND HYDR. JACK AND LOTS OF PB BLAST,START BY SUPPORTING THE VEHICLE AND REMOVING THE REAR WHEELS, NEXT TAKE ONLY THE REAR OF THE DRIVESHAFT LOOSE THEN REMOVE THE MAIN BRAKE LINE,REMOVE THE ANTI SWAY BAR LINK TOP NUTS AND BUSHINGS,THEN REMOVE SHOCK TO AXLE BOLTS,THERE IS A TYPE OF STABALIZER BAR THAT RUNS FROM THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE AXLE TO THE PASS. SIDE OF UNDERCARRIGE REMOVE THE UNDERCARRIGE BOLT, UNPLUG THE ABS WIRES WHICH ARE LOCATED UNDER THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SEAT,I CUT MY PARKING BRAKE CABLES BUT THESE CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE SPLITTER UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE OR INSIDE THE HUBS,MAKING SURE THE JACK IS CENTERED AND SUPPORTING THE AXLE, REMOVE THE FOUR MAIN BOLTS CONNECTED TO THE REAR ARMS REMOVE THESE ON AXLE SIDE, SLOWLY LOWER THE AXLE. IT TOOK ME MORE THAN EIGHT HOURS BUT ALSO SAVED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ITS NOT AS HARD AS IT SOUNDS, GOOD LUCK!

If you aren't mechanically inclined, do not attempt. If so, start by removing the driveshafts, they are attached to yokes at either end of the transfer case. Remove all of the wires and the shift linkage, you may want to mark where they went, but they will not hook up to the wrong spot. Jack up the transmission and place a jack stand under it, and then remove the cross member that goes under the transmission. Lower the transmission a little bit so that you have room to get to the bolts around the transfer case. Remove the bolts and then the transfer case. Reinstallation goes the same way. Make sure the new one is the same kind (np231 or np242) and the same spline count. The count will be 21 or 23.

Remove the driveshaft from the back of the transmission. Remove the rear transmission plate. Remove the transmission seal with a seal puller. Reverse the process to install the new transmission seal.
