all the petals are on single cluster that is attached to the right side of the drivers floor, unscrew the two bolts that hold the assembly on...... beware, removal of the petal assembly will disrupt/disconnect the clutch cable as well, so be prepares to detach the cable off of the transmission.... buy yourself a new pedal cluster and slap it righ back in... but remember to re attach the clutch cable inside the hole....

There is not speedometer cable on a 1996 Honda Civic. There is a throttle cable. Top replace this unhook it from the throttle body and gas pedal. Hook on the new cable to snake it through the firewall. Properly hook the throttle cable to the gas pedal and throttle body.

If you are talking about the accelerator travel sensor it is part of the gas pedal. It has two bolts that mounted to the floor you replace the panel and all it is one unit
If it is like the 72 beetle, Have someone hold the the carb throttle open to give you some slack in the cable, then hook it in from the passenger side. If you hook in from the driver side it will come up done trust me
