I have a 97 Firebird V6... and when replacing headlights I just turn them on.... and with a Phillips screwdirver remove the plastic housing that surrounds the light. Then simply pull the old light out and replace it with a new one. It is very painless. Then replace the plastic housing and you are good to go!
i have a 93 firebird and my relays right next to my headlights under the hood so maybe its there
of course
You have to replace the entire headlight assembly not just the cover.
If you mean the whole headlight assembly, the following link will work for you. It helped immensely when I had to take the whole assembly off my 98 to replace the lift gear. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/

What all do I have to take off to get to the headlights. I just want to change the bulb can anyone help? Its a 1996 LHS.

First off, 1996 are not Super Duties, Super Duties weren't until 1999. To replace the bulb, they just pull out, and the passenger side one is by the battery and is hard to get to.
