you need the key and a pin. disconnect the wiring (make sure you label them) and put the key in, turn it, and push the pin in a small hole (normally in the top left side of the tumbler. or you might get lucky and it's a simple nut on the back side that you haven't seen yet. it depends whither it's dash mounted or column mounted.
how to remove cover to replace ignition lock cylinder and what type of tools do i need
With no key you will have to drill out the existing tumbler assembly from the switch in order to unscrew the ignition switch bezel.
Don't replace anything. The dealer can make you new keys by using the Vin # on your vehicle.
I did not get a answer
You will need to remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1975 Chevrolet pickup truck ignition cylinder. Slide the ignition cylinder out and remove the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install the new ignition cylinder.
That truck should have electronic ignition, no points.
Ignition Lock? or Door Lock?
It was available with a four, six, or eight cylinder engine.
It is easy . Go to auto parts store buy the ignition switch since directions are in the box. You will need one piece that you can make to hold the springs in place while removing it and replace it . Allow 4 hours for a beginner.
