I have done it, and there are two ways.
1. Buy the bulbs at the dealer. Those will be quite expensive. Open up the radio, take off the front face knobs (volume, etc -- they pull off), disconnect the front face flex cable, unscrew the green PCB (printed circuit board) from the face. The bulb assembly twists to unlock it from the board.
2. Look for similarly rated wire-terminated bulbs at on-line electronics distributors. Buy 10 for the price of one at the dealer. You will then get rid of the twist-off bulbs, and simply solder the leads of the bulbs to the contacts on the PCB.
The front face PCB in early S40 radios has a problem with copper tracks on the PCB cracking. This causes some lights to go out, and/or some buttons to stop working. You need to carefully look for cracks (you will need a microscope or a good loupe), and bridge them. Probably electronics rework experience would help.
Answerpleas go to www.corvetteradios.com and look up what type of GM radio you have, and they will tell you what bulb you need and how to replace it. Second opinion: I have a 2000 P M with same problem & the Chevy dealer told me it could not be replaced. He said they replace the radio.Ye! Sux I know!

Depending on wich Saturn its really easy just pop off the dash around the radio remove the screws take out your radio unplug the wires and buy a new radio w/ wiring harness and face plate.
Replacing a car stereo is not a difficult process. All you need to do is take off the face plate, unscrew the radio, and unhook the wires. Then place the new stereo in, hook up the wires, screw the new stereo in, and replace the face plate.
On my 93' transport # Remove radio from car. # Remove face # unplug the "keyboards" (3 of them) # Remove the two light panels # run 5v-12v through the light boards to see which bulbs are burnt # Get new bulbs # sodier in new bulbs # reinsert the two light panels # plug in all three keyboards # attach face # reinstall radio I really recommend testing the light panels before reassembly I put the radio back in the car twice before bench testing them. Then the third install I forgot to pug the lower keyboard back in. I haven't remove the radio a Fourth time yet to fix that. Go slow and try not to forget any step.
Remove the plastics with a flat head screwdriver (be careful not to break the plastic clamps) surround the face fo the radio. Unscrew (should be four) screws remove radio and make sure to disconnect wiring harness and ground wire. Enjoy.
lady gaga sings that song poker face on the radio
youll most likely have to replace the whole radio. from what ive been told it would cost the same or more just for the faceplate alone.
