I am asuming your talking about rear diffrental seal that is known to leak you need to take off all the bolts around it approx. like 15-20 when u do this the gear oil will leak out so get something under it to catch it once that's done put the new seal in and put all the bolts back and on the top usually facing the front of the truck there should be a "bolt" drain plug type thing remove that and filler up with gear oil replace drain plug bolt and u should be good to go

No!!!! Wrong. Rear main is the seal in the rear of your engine. If you have a manual transmission, you need to remove the clutch and it is right pretty much there. Same as automatic trans. The rear main is the seal between the transmission and engine.

Pry up clip on ends and pull off.
Need to know the year of engine.

It would be recommended to replace the rear axle bearings and axles when they are worn/bad. If the bearings and axles are okay, just replace the seals.
