To replace the serpentine belt, I did the following:

  1. Jack up the car and remove the front passenger tire.
  2. Behind the tire there is a plastic panel with two 10mm bolts, remove the bolts and swing the panel open to expose the bottom pulleys. You can also see the oil filter.
  3. Open the hood and locate the 19mm bolt just below the belt. Draw a diagram to show how the belt is routed. I created one but this forum won't allow me to attach it. email me at arndios@gmail.com and I'll email it to you.
  4. Use a socket wrench with a 19mm socket and turn the bolt shown above in clockwise direction. If you are in front of the car you pull the wrench handle towards you. This will create a slack on the belt. I did not have a socket wrench with a long handle so I just inserted the socket wrench handle into a one inch steel pipe and used the pipe for leverage.
  5. Slip off the belt from one of the pulleys. I slipped it off the top right pulley because that was the closest to me.
  6. Be careful releasing the handle of the socket wrench because it will return all the way back. Now remove the belt.
  7. Get new belt and match it with the old one to make sure it is the correct one. Then position the new belt around the pulleys. I left off the right smooth pulley.
  8. Ask your assistant to pull the socket wrench handle to create slack on the new belt.
  9. From the wheel well, while your assistant is pulling on the socket wrench, position the belt around the right smooth pulley. Now the belt should be positioned around all the pulleys.
  10. Inspect that the belt is properly positioned on all the pulleys prior to starting the car.
  11. Start the car and observe the belt to make sure it is properly positioned.
  12. Turn off car, install tire and remove jack. Done.
