You're best bet is to by a kit from Ford. it will show you how to replace, and how to get at seal. not a hard job. just a few bolts to remove sun roof and seal. replacement is in reverse.
yes I'm afraid you do , it is a one piece seal and it is located behind the engine flywheel and the only way to replace it is by removing te transmission

Replace the rubber seal. You could seal with silicone but you would be unable to open it again.
Replace the seal.
Aprox 7 hours for a 2 wheel drive or 9 hours for a 4 wheel drive.
The seal should run about 10 dollars or less. The mechanic shouldn't charge more than 40 dollars or so. It is a pretty easy job. Buy the seal, remove the driveshaft, knock the seal out, replace it with the new one and reinstall the driveshaft. Piece of cake. good luck.

Remove transmission and replace the rear main seal
Replace it.
Simple! There are only 4 bolts that hold the sunroof glass in place. Remove them from the inside and voila... the glass lifts right out! You can probably find a good one in a local junk yard for almost nothing.
