Normally old/worn wipers will make more noise because the rubber is dried out, stiff and fighting the glass. If you replace the wipers and still have noise, usually its a twisted wiper arm (but this situation is rare - changing wipers solves the problem 99% of the time). According to my 2002 Owners Manual, the front grill assembly needs to be removed in order to gain access to the bulb. I am able to touch the back of the bulb without removing the grill, but it's too tight to get my hand in the opening without removing the grill first.
