there are no ball joints on a Ford van, they have twin i beams, that have like a king pin of sorts, newer ones are sleeves that set inside the i beam, they need to be replaced, a little easier than the old king pins
Oh. I just replaced all 4 ball joints on my 2000 E350 last year. The auto parts store sold them to me when I asked for ball joints and they sure looked ball-jointy. The older vans had the god-forsaken king pins, but the newer vans got their ball joint thang on.
BTW, if changing the ball joints doesn't stop the 65MPH shimmy, I recommend looking at the radius arm bushings next. New polyurethane kits are the shizzle.
