this sounds too simple to be asked. Or do you mean doing something else to the battery? if you can see the battery just disconnect the terminals using a spanner and replace the battery with one of similar voltage.
My Toyota Harrier 240G has done 17.2km/L but average is around 13km/L
From $65 to $265 depending on the quality battery you buy.

Replace the battery cable with an OEM style cable. Do not use a clamp on terminal.
Just call a local auto parts store and ask if the two vehicles have the same size battery, then make sure their size is the same that you have. Good Luck!
7 km/l average
8-9km/l for your 4WD 2.2 a 2.2 4WD Harrier is consuming about the same petrol as a 3.0 VVTI 2WD version link http://www.autotrade.com.my/forum/allposts.asp?summary=1&Forum=ap660668426&access=1&status=1&Subject=TOYOTA+HARRIER+OWNERS&Closed=&page=1
I have a 2006 Yaris, took my key to a local watch repair shop £3.00 to change the battery, perfect job.
there are small black circular pins around the shroud on top. pull them out and you will be able to access the bolt to the battery harness
The diesel filter on a Toyota Landcruiser is on the right, immediately after the battery. It is easy to access and easy to replace.
Remove the negative battery cable for 6 minutes and then replace.
