Once the wheel is off you have access to the brake assy. Look at the assy where the rotor goes through the pads. There will be two long pins running through the assy and through the pads. These hold the pads in place. On the back top side there is a stiff wire that runs from pin to pin and fits into a hole in the middle. Pull it out of the hole and then from the pins.

Note the position of the inner spring and then remove the pins and inner spring. Now with a large pry bar you can push the pads away from the rotor. This is necessary to allow the new pads to fit.

Now remove the old pads by lifting them straight out. Put disk quiet on the new pads and insert them into the assy. Reinstall all the parts in reverse order and bleed the brake assy with new fluid.

Your done.

How much to replace a clutch in a 1992 Toyota 4wd 4runner?

The most expensive part of a clutch job in your Toyota will be (as it always is) the labor; 5 to 6 hundred dollars. The clutch assembly is about 450.00$. There may be incidentals added to this, so bank on about 1,000.00$. I have a 1991 4runner with 312 thousand kiometres on the original clutch. Try to find that on any other model, North American or other.
