The fuel filter is located behind the driverside door. It is an inline filter and requires a special tool. The tool comes in a set of a couple different sizes, they look like plastic washers with a cut so they can fit over the fuel line. Just snap on the line push into the old fuel filter and presto, filter is removed. To install the new one just push the line back in and it will snap into place. The tool costs around $11.

According to Autozone's website, it is under the vehicle, ahead of the fuel tank attached to the chassis. On my 2001 it is located under the vehicle on the driver's side approximately half-way back.
1996 2.4L Pontiac Grand AmWhat year, engine, model?
The fuel filter is integrated with the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank. This filter is not serviceable by itself.
The transmission filter will be located inside the transmission. Their is no need to replace it if you flush it. A flush will clean everything and rinse the filter
where is the fuel filter located on a 2003 Pontiac sunfire
i believe that the fuel filter is in front of the gas tank .which is kinda hard to get at
On the oil pan there is a cap you unscrew, and inside there is a "card board filter", that you would pull out and replace.
I've never had to change mine, but it's an in-line filter located near the gas tank.
