Before you begin:

1. Remove the Fuel Pump fuse (located inside the car behind the coin-box-- use diagram on backside of coin box to find out which one it is)

2. Start engine

3. After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure

4. Turn ignition switch OFF

5. Reinstall fuel pump fuse after servicing fuel system

(Source: Nissan Sentra Factory Service Manual)

The fuel pump is located under the rear seat, in the middle. Lift out the bottom cushion (it will snap away if lifted from the front), remove the panel, disconnect wires and fuel line, then unscrew and slide the fuel pump assembly straight up and out, taking extra care with the fuel level floater, as it sticks out.

Your fuel tank will be exposed and open, so it is advisable to keep 1/2 tank of fuel or less in the tank when performing this procedure. Fuel will also pour out of the pump assembly when lifted out. Do in a well ventilated area.
