It's really easy to get to. Just pop the hood and behind each headlight is a rubber grommet. pull that back and push the tab in to remove the wire harness. Remove the bulb and replace it along with the wire harness and the rubber grommet. Note, the 'wire harness' is a clip that is screwed in on one side, and the other side is hooked on a catch that you release by pressing on it. When you do this, it swings out, allowing you access to the bulb filament. No other discussion of this really gave the full understanding to me, so I hope this clears it up.
Also, you need to remove either the air intake nozzle (a T Shaped piece that lifts straight up and pressed back in when replacing) on the passenger side, or the fluid reservoir on the driver's side, to get access to the rear of the headlights on the respective sides. Not hard, but can get a bit dirty. FYI.

To replace a headlight on a 2002 Honda Civic first prop the hood open. Locate the headlight housing inside the engine compartment. Find the bulbs and remove them. Install the new bulbs.

The headlight dimmer switch is located on the end of the lever. Remove the steering column so the lever can be properly reached.
