The 96 Chrysler lhs is known to have a couple of wiring issues. The crank sensor sometimes does not read. Also, the security system can have a wiring issue. Both of these problems can cause the car to stop running the start again as described.

It might be the high/low beam switch. Had to replace one on my '96 when I had only low beams.
Are you sure you need to replace it? Is it a no-spark condition? Might want to check the Crankshaft Position Sensor first.
Check the heater core, it is probably bad. It could be heater hose connections to the heater core, but I would bet on the heater core going bad.
It is located on the top front of the engine. The top radiator hose is connected to a metal thermostat cover on the engine block. It's held in place with 2 half inch bolts. Hope this helps.
