After you buy the new ornament, to take the old one out, get a small Phillips head screwdriver and a big, soft rag. Basically, you just use the rag to keep from scratching the paint on the hood as you work the screwdriver (may be easier with two) underneath the ornament, and slowly work it up enough that it just pops right out.
The ornament has two posts at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. Work evenly at these two points. An alternative to the screwdriver and rag are silicon tools that won't scratch the paint. These can be purchased on BavAuto.com

Open the hood and identify the 2 small galvanized metal tabs on either side of the spring on the underside of the ornament base. They will be at the 6 and 12 o'clock positions. Grasp one with a pliers and rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise (to 3 and 9 o'clock). Push the old ornament upwards through the hood. Twist the tabs on the new ornament to 3 and 9 o'clock, place through the hole in the hood and turn the tabs back to 6 and 12 o'clock.
You should be able to do it yourself. When you obtain the new ornament you will be able to check your wrench size/type. There may be some hood insulation to move temporarily and generally one fastener but that is about it.
