you should be able to put a socket wrench in the front of the idler pulley. Push away from the tension of the belt, then remove the belt. MAKE SURE you remember how the belt came off. Loosen the bolts on the pulley, then remove. Install new pulley, then put the belt back on.
go to youtube and type in ericthecarguy and change pulley
is it a pintara
If there is a belt there absolutely!
Use a 5/8 deep socket. The pulley should fall down when loosened enough.
Replace tentioner pully on 2.8 multiport
The A/C compressor is located on the bottom of passenger side of the engine. It is the unit between the crankshaft pulley and the idler pulley. It is driven by the serpentine accessory belt.

iat sensor on a 97 blazer and what does it do
the pulley is bad when it stops moving
It may be the Idler pulley. I used to have a 96 Breeze with a 2.0L 4cyl that made a whining noise. I thought something might be seriously wrong, but then i discovered it was just the Idler pulley making noise. I changed it-- no more noise.
On the 97 s series trucks, The crankshaft sensor is located on the lower left "from front of engine" timing cover behind the dampner pulley.
On my 97 3.5L you have to loosen the bolt (15mm)on the front of the idler (loosen, don't remove) then go underneath and the is a 13mm bolt that adjusts the position of the idler for tension. Loosen this and the idler should loosen up.
