To replace the distributor on a 1984 Pontiac Fiero 2.5 L 4-cylinder, first disconnect the battery and remove the air cleaner for better access. Then, mark the position of the existing distributor and disconnect the wiring and vacuum advance hose. Unscrew the distributor hold-down clamp, lift out the old distributor, and carefully insert the new one, aligning it with your markings. Reconnect the wiring, vacuum hose, and air cleaner, then reconnect the battery and start the engine to check for proper operation.
